Chesterfield Senior Schools Art Exhibition
An Art Exhibition is set to showcase the creative work of local students from nine senior schools in the Chesterfield area.
The event, organised by the Rotary Club of Chesterfield in conjunction with local schools, is being held for a fourth year at St Andrew’s United Reformed Church, Newbold Road, Chesterfield, over the weekend of Saturday 6th October and Sunday 7th October 2018. It will be officially opened at 10.00am on Saturday 6th October.
The exhibiting schools are;
- St Mary’s Catholic High School
- Outwood Academy, Newbold
- Springwell Community School
- Netherthorpe School, Staveley
- Whittington Green School
- Hasland Hall Community School
- Parkside Community School
- Brookfield Community School
- Shirebrook Academy
All students exhibiting will receive a certificate, and the winner of an ‘Outstanding Exhibit’ will be awarded the coveted ‘Ian Gordon Art Prize’.
Exhibition opening times: Saturday 6 October 2018, from 10.00am to 4.00pm, and Sunday 7 October 2017 from 1.00pm to 4.00pm. Admission is free.
Craig Longmuir, Chesterfield Senior Schools Co-ordinator and Head of the Art Department at St Mary’s Catholic High School, said: ‘This annual art exhibition provides a great opportunity for the local community to see at first hand the very high standard that is being achieved by local art students. It is well worth a visit’.
