We are pleased to be back offering tours for schools this November.

Made in Chesterfield visits are designed to inspire small groups of students from Years 6-13 by providing exciting, interactive and insightful tours to local companies in the manufacturing, engineering, property and construction sectors.

MSE Hiller

The next time you are at the supermarket and put some orange juice, crisps or vegetables in your trolley, there is a good chance they have been produced using a centrifuge from MSE Hiller!

Throughout your visit you will learn about the different elements of the business and will have the opportunity to
have a go at some “hands on” activities such as welding, fitting and chemistry

They are an innovative manufacturer and distributor, importing from several countries. This means that they offer the widest choice of products including hot tubs, swim spas, Chill Tubs and more to trade and retail customers. From their base in Chesterfield, they work with over 250 partners globally, including the UK, Europe and USA, serving thousands of customers worldwide.

Superior Wellness are eager to show more groups of students how their products are made, after the successful student visits last year. The tours will give insight to how different departments work together to be successful and create a thriving workplace.

Your visit will begin with an introduction and a Health and Safety briefing. There will then be a tour of our site, including the warehouse and new showroom. You will have the opportunity to meet with various teams along the way including the logistics team, the marketing team, HR and many more!

United Cast Bar

United Cast Bar is a cast iron specialist and the home of Unibar continuously cast iron, produced in two of Europe’s most prestigious foundries and distributed through the United Cast Bar distribution network.

Your visit will incorporate a brief presentation of what United Cast Bar do, how it is relevant to what you learn in school, and a tour of the factory.

Weightron Bilanciai

Weightron Bilanciai is the UK’s leading manufacturer of weighbridges, industrial weighing equipment, process weighing systems and software. The business supplies a wide range of weighing system solutions. The weighbridges are designed to weigh articulated vehicles across multiple sites – completely automated using the firm’s own software solution system.

On the tour of the factory and various departments, you will see the mechanical production of all the big equipment and weighbridges. There will be the opportunity to meet the field service technicians and the software engineers. They will teach you all about the high-tech equipment that sits alongside the weighbridges. You will also learn about how software is manufactured and what it can be used for. There will also be a hands-on activity using the company’s user interfaces and being an “operator”.

Dalton Roofing

Effective roofing isn’t just about tiles, slates and timber. It’s also about providing quality service and building meaningful relationships. It’s this approach to work which keeps Dalton Roofing at the top of the roofing game, and has done for nearly 30 years! Whether it’s a leaking garage, broken tiles or a complete re-roofing job, they have the experience, know-how and reputation to solve any roofing issues.

Hogg Norton

Mike and Adrian, owners of Hogg Norton, started to produce homemade liqueurs and got creative with the products. In the beginning, they tested them out on family and friends at BBQ’s and parties. After a while, they decided to do it commercially. Production moved first from the storeroom to the garage, to a converted barn. Now, they have a the state-of-the-art production site!

You will have a great experience learning all about licensing requirements, marketing, local produce, what happens to the fruit and the production processes. This visit will be very interactive and hands on.

Penny Hydraulics

Penny Hydraulics are an award-winning UK design and manufacturer of lifting equipment. They have purpose built premises housing a manufacturing and assembly plant. Some of the products designed and manufactured include goods lifts, winch systems , van cranes, davits and tyre presses. Penny Hydraulics Ltd is possibly best known for its market leading range of hydraulic lifting equipment, vehicle mounted cranes and vehicle mounted platform lifts, and goods lift solutions. These include the Cellar Lift drinks delivery hoists and Mezz Lift, mezzanine floor lift range.

The company is partnered with industry leading professional and trade organisations. They are approved commercial vehicle converters for major vehicle manufacturers including Renault, Nissan and Volkswagen. In addition to this, commercial vehicle body builders worldwide from USA to Australia and Hungary to Benelux choose to partner with Penny Hydraulics to sell lifting applications all over the world.

You will take part in various activities to learn about design, manufacturing, quality control, aftersales support and nationwide service operation.
