Chesterfield Artisan Market – Sunday 25th February
Visit Chesterfield Artisan Market to browse stalls, taste delicious treats, talk to artists or sample authentic street food. Not forgetting the chance to be entertained by local musicians!
Family days out
Chatsworth Farmyard – Open daily 10th – 25th February
Head to Chatsworth to meet the animals and burn off some energy in the playground. There are plenty of activities taking place each day for the whole family to enjoy.
History Makers at Bolsover Castle – Open daily 10th – 25th February
Have an exciting day out at Bolsover Castle, where you can hear stories about historical high jinks! You can even get dressed up and pretend you’ve gone back in time.
Matlock Farm Park – Open daily 10th-25th February
Come on over to Matlock Farm Park this half term, for plenty of exciting activities including Alpaca and Sheep Walking, Meet the Chicks and more!
Council tenants half term fun days – 20th & 21st February
Council tenants in Chesterfield are invited to half term family fun days – a chance to share your views and speak to members of the council’s housing team, whilst joining in with free fun activities with the family!
Please note: although the events are specifically targeted at council housing tenants, any spaces for activities that are not filled will be opened up to families in the wider community.
Shows, performances and workshops
Shark in the Park at the Winding Wheel Theatre – Saturday 17th February
See all three of Nick Sharratt’s ‘Shark in the Park‘ books live on stage at the Winding Wheel Theatre! This family musical is bound to leave you with a smile on your face.
Megaslam Live Tour 2024 – Saturday 17th February
Taking place at the SMH Group Stadium, the 2 hour Megaslam live tour will feature your favourite Megaslam stars! This family friendly, fully interactive experience will see Team Nasty will battle it out with Team Megaslam in a series of action packed matches.
Chesterfield Observatory – 9th, 16th and 23rd February
Watch nature perform at the Chesterfield Observatory. Take a look through the telescope and see what you can spot in the night sky. Plus, if you want to do some learning, come along on the 16th February to hear a talk from Mark Eustace on famous scientist, Sir Isaac Newton.
Dobbie’s Random Acts of Kindness workshop – Thursday 22nd February
This fun-fuelled workshop is centred around Random Acts of Kindness. From making a bug hotel to creating a sunshine thank you card to put a smile on someone’s face, there will be plenty to get involved in.
