An introduction to printmaking
This introductory workshop explores one of the many techniques of printmaking. Linocut is a relief printing technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum is used as the relief surface. The design is then cut into the linoleum surface with a selection of specialist tools, and printed using a selection of prepared printing ink.
You will be shown how to produce a lino print before being able to experiment with this printmaking process. You will be given the opportunity to overlay and combine colours and prepare surfaces on which to print.
The workshop price includes all materials, entrance to the garden on the day, as well as tea and coffee.
No previous experience of printmaking is required. Please be aware that this workshop is intended for adults only (18+).
The workshop takes place in The Old Potting Shed, which is accessible from the garden.
