Electronic Advent Calendar workshop

Christmas in Chesterfield

The countdown to Christmas has officially begun!

This workshop will see you take a simple advent calendar and turn it into an electronic clock that can be used year after year to count down the 25 days to Christmas, using an Arduino and some programmable LEDs.

The Arduino is a credit-card sized computer which has revolutionised the way coding and electronics are taught to children; and provided a new way for engineers to create new products.

This beginner’s workshop is for adults who want to learn the basics of the Arduino, coding and electronics.
No prior knowledge or experience is required – this is a complete beginner’s course.

in this 3-hour workshop you will learn:
• What is an Arduino and how to set one up
• Basic C++ – the coding language for the Arduino
• How to control real-life items like lights, buzzers and switches.

All equipment will be provided.

In addition to your new advent calendar, you will be given a booklet to take away with you, full of information and projects to help you continue your Arduino adventure at home.
