Essential Digital Skills

Course Overview

D2N2 Digital Skills Academy is a free, innovative programme set up exclusively to help autistic individuals and women, particularly those who are returning to work after a period of absence, those out of work, and those looking for another role or to progress within their own organisation.

Digital is increasingly being used as a primary route for engagement and activity across business. It is crucial that we all have the digital skills needed for both life and work. Without these skills we will be at a significant disadvantage within the workplace.

Key training course outcomes

  • Gain confidence in the use of digital devices and resources
  • Gain an understanding of popular business software applications
  • Register on and manage online accounts
  • Understand how to stay safe online

These four evening sessions have been developed to help individuals obtain essential digital skills in order to apply for or enhance their career. The sessions can be accessed as a whole, or on an identified needs basis.

Evening 1: Foundation Digital Skills

Evening 2: Handling information & content

Evening 3: Using Applications to create content and solve problems

Evening 4: Collaborating and sharing information on professional networks

What support is available?

Not only will delegates learn new digital skills, they’ll also receive support from a graduate digital buddy, who’ll help build their confidence and offer one-to-one guidance in a safe environment.

Work experience opportunities may also be a possibility for delegates once they’ve completed their course, further enhancing their employability prospects.

Applicants

Each course requires every participant to have a minimum level of digital skills and experience to ensure that the training course is right for them. Desired skills include a competency and thorough understanding of computer systems, and applications, be familiar with file management, word processing systems, and have excellent written and verbal skills.

If you’re ready to unleash your potential and eager to become a digital champion, get in touch with the D2N2 Digital Skills Academy by calling 0333 320 0333 ext. 2153 (during office hours only).

They will then discuss your eligibility and give you more information about the programme, and the support available to you. Delegates will also be required to complete an initial assessment and an enrolment form.
