Internet of Things (IoT) in Business Workshop
Amazon Echo. FitBit. Even your washing machine.
While you might be thinking “one of these things is not like the other,” they are all examples of the Internet of Things (IoT).
They are all everyday objects that can be connected to the internet, be recognised by other devices, and contribute information to a database. The Internet of Things basically describes the Internet – “version 2”, where data is created by things; and whether you realise it or not, we all engage with the Internet of Things already.
This workshop will explain how IoT works, how it is being used in the real world and how can it can be used to positively impact your business (literally any business!) now and in the future.
This workshop will be run by Ann Fomukong-Boden – Principal Electronic Engineer and Director of Kakou Technologies. Based in Chesterfield, Kakou Technologies is an R&D, product design consultancy developing innovative products that are as beautiful in function as in form. Kakou specialise in taking an idea from initial concept through to full-manufacturing, delivering products that add value and provide genuine real life benefits.
This event is organised by Chesterfield Borough Council’s Innovation Support Programme, which is part ERDF funded through the D2N2 Growth Hub. Destination Chesterfield works to support the Council’s ongoing commitment to business.
