Manufacturing Futures Workshop

Boost your business by accessing a fully funded Manufacturing Futures workshop. This mentoring initiative supports recruitment and growth by teaching your employees how to engage with the next generation of manufacturers.

Register your interest for an upcoming workshop via the Manufacturing Futures page and receive ongoing support.

Equipping the future workforce

Recent data indicates that 66% of manufacturing businesses attempting to recruit in the past three months have struggled to find suitable candidates. With Chesterfield having 8% of its workforce in manufacturing (nearly double the national average), we must secure a strong pipeline of future talent.

By accessing a Manufacturing Futures workshop, your employees learn mentoring skills to empower them to offer more work experience opportunities, take on apprentices and interns confidently, and provide career advice to young people. Furthermore, your team can inspire and support the next generation to study work-based learning programmes, for example: T-levels, apprenticeships, work experience, and internships.

The concept for Manufacturing Futures emerged at a Manufacturing and Engineering Forum organised by Destination Chesterfield. The forum took place as part of the tenth edition of Made In Chesterfield, an annual festival supported by The Chesterfield College Group, which showcases the diverse career opportunities available in the sector.

Each workshop includes:
