Junction Arts is proud to host the 6th annual Tapton Lock Festival at Chesterfield Canal.

This years programme boasts exciting out door theatre, arts and crafts workshops, choirs and brass bands, boat rides, climbing wall and much, much more. From 11.00-4.00pm each day visitors can come down to Tapton Lock to join in the fun.

On Saturday 15th the Chesterfield Canal Walking Festival new walks leaflet is being launched by the Mayor of Chesterfield and Tapton Festival supporter Cllr. Stuart Brittain, who will be cheering the first walk off.

The festival line up includes:


  • Pif Paf Theatre’s amazing Action Painting (picture below)

  • Ashover Brass Band
  • Unison Choir

  • Chesterfield Rocks
  • Jumping Clay
  • Susan White
  • Eco Centre Dry Stone Walling

  • Derbyshire Wildlife Trust
  • RSPB
  • Climbing Wall
  • Have a go canoes

Alongside all of this there will be Drone Valley Brewery, the Badger Barrister and the Food Box for delicious food and drinks. So come down and join us for this wonderful family event, it’s not to be missed!

This exhibition at Chesterfield Museum commemorates the end of the First World War and the impact it had on members of the Sherwood Foresters who came from Chesterfield as well as the Chesterfield area.
