Chesterfield Champions

Van Dyk

Van Dyk is a luxury 4* country house hotel located just off junction 30 of the M1 in Clowne. The hotel boasts an AA Food Rosette and offers a vast array of culinary experiences in both the Southgate Grill and Bowden Restaurants; considered two of the area’s best restaurants.

Southgate House as the hotel was previously known carries a rich local history, dating back to the 1800’s. The house has seen many uses over the years, starting out as the family home to the Butler-Bowden family. The house has also been home to a Prisoner of War camp and more recently the infamous Van Dyk’s garden centre. Since then the house has undergone over £1 million in refurbishments to become the beautiful 15 bedroom boutique, Van Dyk.

Van Dyk was a finalist in the Best Out of Town category at Chesterfield Food and Drink Awards 2017.

A spokesperson from Van Dyk, says:-

“As a family run business we are very proud to serve the people of Chesterfield. This is a vibrant town with many opportunities for local businesses to do well. We became a Champion to learn more about the town and network with other local businesses too.”

The hotel is a popular licensed wedding venue with a beautiful draped Ballroom and idyllic gardens. With a thriving Business Club they also boast several suites for conferencing with discounted rates for local businesses.
