Chesterfield Specsavers opened in 1994 and has dedicated the last 25 years to providing the local community with friendly and professional optical care. In 2014, it extended its services to incorporate hear care. The offering now gives the team and customers a full suite of hear and sight care, from the supplying of glasses and contact lenses to hearing aids and everything in-between.

Named Retailer of the Year in the 2018 Chesterfield Retail Awards, the team were recognised as a well-loved and popular hub at the heart of the high street. With a team over seventy colleagues, including ten past & present apprentices, it also boasts over thirty sight and hearing clinical professionals. Regardless of their background, they share a passion for service, developing relationships with local people and their clinical excellence.

Although Specsavers is a national brand, each individual store is owned and run by directors from the local area. This allows a flexibility and accountability that drives a passion for excellent service for local residents. They strive for an independent feel, but with the benefit of the great value offers often only achievable by larger companies.

As well as providing glasses and hearing aids, they also play a huge role in looking after the health of their customers’ eyes and ears – a role they take very seriously, which is why they invest in the best equipment and train their professionals to the very highest standards.

The eye and hear care customers, from all ages and walks of life, provide support for both private and NHS Care. The team actively look to help reduce the burden on the NHS by taking on additional responsibilities in managing patients who would usually have had to attend the hospital or GP.

Despite the great range of designer brands, products and services on offer, Chesterfield Specsavers’ greatest asset is definitely its people. The majority of the team are local and are employed because they share their passion for service excellence and caring for customers. Customer feedback tells us they feel this passion too – and can tell that to the team it is so much more than just a job!

Specsavers named as Chesterfield’s Retailer of the Year

Specsavers has been named as Chesterfield’s favourite store. The Burlington Street branch of the national opticians’ chain was crowned Retailer of the Year at the 2018 Chesterfield Retail Awards on Wednesday 13 June.
