Chatsworth Road is a vibrant shopping centre which forms the main link between Chesterfield and the Peak District.
Chatsworth Road has seen a renaissance over recent years into an increasingly vibrant retail and leisure destination, nurturing local businesses as well as attracting new arrivals.
With the full involvement of the local community who demonstrated widespread support for the re-use of Chatsworth Road and in particular the restoration of the listed mills and delivery of new job opportunities the area has seen significant physical regeneration with modern developments including the Bradbury Place apartments, @Wheatbridge Medical Centre and retail and leisure development at 131 Chatsworth Road and the Hanger.
Improvement on Chatsworth Road is still very much to the fore and regeneration is still happening in this area and the vision includes a 5 ha former factory site for employment use, the restoration of a Grade II Listed Mill, redevelopment or re-use of remaining industrial land and buildings for a mix of retail, business, residential and community use.
