We are just ten minutes from junction 29 of the M1 motorway via the A617. Car parks are well signposted and some town centre car parks have achieved the ‘Park Mark’ award.

Getting here by rail

Chesterfield Railway Station features step-free access (subway and lift to platform), as well as tactile paving at the edge of all platforms and foot and top of stairwells. The Peak Sightseer buses have a two routes, both based on Chatsworth House, so that you can easily explore some of our local heritage sites and beauty . The blue route serves Baslow, Calver, Grindleford, the National Trust Longshaw Estate, Surprise View, Hathersage, Bamford, Hope, Castleton and the spectacular Winnat’s Pass to Blue John Cavern. The red route links Pilsley, Hassop Station (for the Monsal Trail), Bakewell and the village of Ashford-in-the-Water.

If you need help getting to the town centre and/or major supermarket due to age, disability or staying in a location where public transport is limited, then Derbyshire Connect Shopping service provides a weekly shopping journey. This service provides gate-to-gate transport in a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. These need to be booked in advance by calling 01773 746652 from 8.30am to 4pm on Monday to Friday. Getting around by bike or on foot
