Chesterfield’s Specialised Canvas launches new range of healthcare PPE
Chesterfield’s Specialised Canvas has developed a wider range of PPE as a result of the significant levels of feedback and enquiries received from existing customers within the healthcare industry.
The new product range, which is in high demand to support the work of the NHS and care sectors, includes reusable aprons, isolation gowns, protective sleeves, head scrubs and protective screening. These are produced in the company’s facility in Chesterfield and are being shipped direct to the users daily, providing the quickest supply chain possible.
Specialised Canvas, a supplier of bespoke canvas solutions, has ceased general production to focus on producing PPE equipment. The company has now supplied more than 75,000 face shields to UK healthcare workers at sites including hospitals, GP surgeries, dental practices and care homes.
Paul Noble, Managing Director of Specialised Canvas Group commented: “It’s hard to comprehend that 4 weeks ago we were closing our doors and not knowing when we might open them again, for the first time in over 40 years. One phone call the following day changed all of that, and I am extremely proud of the way our team has responded and the role they are playing in supporting the UK’s amazing key workers during this pandemic.”
Paul added: “Over the years we have significantly invested in our machinery and infrastructure, which when added to our dedicated and skilled workforce has allowed us to quickly adapt our manufacturing and adopt these new products. Furthermore, all the newly developed PPE products utilise the same materials and machines as our standard everyday products, meaning we’re able to produce excellent quality protective equipment that will hopefully help to save many lives.”
