£4 million refit of Chesterfield's Market Hall

This major refurbishment will improve the external look and the internal facilities of the building and will be a major contribution to securing the prosperity and future of the town’s market and shopping centre.”

The funding package includes £2.1 million of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and Lottery grant with the remaining money coming from Chesterfield Borough Council.

The planning and listed building consent has been granted. Market traders who have units in the Market Hall have been offered temporary accommodation, the main part of which will be in a temporary market hall on New Square.
Timescales for the refurbishment work will be agreed soon.
