Spireites appoint Goalkeeping Coach

Chesterfield manager Danny Wilson has added to his backroom staff with the appointment of Matt Duke as the club’s new goalkeeping coach.

Duke joins the Spireites as a replacement for Mark Crossley, who left the club last month to become Notts County’s Assistant Manager.

The 39-year-old spent last season at Alfreton, following a 15-year league career which included a spell in the Premier League with Hull City. He also helped Bradford City defy the odds to reach the League Cup final in 2013.

Danny Wilson, Chesterfield Football Club Manager, said:-

“Matt has had a terrific career so he will have the respect of the keepers he works with. I think he has a great future ahead of him as a goalkeeping coach and it should be a seamless transition as he replaces Mark.”

New appointment Matt Duke, said:-

“It’s a new chapter in my career and I’m really excited about the challenge. I’m joining a fantastic football club and I can’t wait for the season to start.”
