Charity and Chesterfield Champion set to open Gift Emporium
Chesterfield Champion, Fairplay, will be celebrating the grand opening of the Fairplay Gift Emporium on Friday 4th May.
Fairplay is a local children’s charity that supports children and young people with disabilities and their families across North Derbyshire. Fairplay offers support to children aged 0-25 with physical, learning, behavioural and sensory disabilities. Fairplay’s services are tailored to meet the needs of families and include holiday play schemes, youth clubs, residential breaks, independent living groups, parent support groups and now work experience in the Gift Emporium.
The shop, which will open in the Market Hall in the old Qoozies building, aims to support young people into employment & has been partly funded from Big Lottery – Awards for All.
National Lottery Awards for All offers funding from £300 to £10,000 to support what matters to people and communities. They fund organisations with great project ideas that shape the places and spaces that matter to communities, bring more people together and build strong relationships in and across communities and enable more people to fulfil their potential by working to address issues at the earliest possible stage.
Heather Fawbert, Chief Executive at Fairplay said:-
“Come and join us from 4pm on Friday 4 May to celebrate Fairplay’s new adventure.
“Chesterfield is a great place to live and work as it has a great sense of community spirit and a strong voluntary sector that meets local people’s needs. Fairplay has become a community champion to promote Chesterfield and to ensure that the huge impact the voluntary sector has is recognised and celebrated.”
Manchester artist, Dave Draws, has created a mural at the new Fairplay Gift Emporium. Dave also created the Chesterfield Doodle Map Mural on the third floor of the H&F showroom highlighting many businesses and landmarks across the town.
