Local doggy day care and doggy hotel wins prestigious industry award

Chesterfield-based Rose Cottage Doggy Day Care and Luxury Doggy Hotel have won one of their industry’s most prestigious awards – the Pet Industry Federation Awards (PIF), Kennel of the Year.

The Pet Industry Federation provides a quality assurance of businesses in the pet care sector with all members agreeing to adhere to their charters, representing best practice for the different sectors of the pet trade on joining the relevant association.

The PIF Awards celebrate success across a wide range of products, services, companies and individuals and provide the perfect platform to recognise excellence and innovation in the industry.

Dawn Brown founded Rose Cottage in December 2017 and has grown it to where it can now look after over 200 clients at their 5 ½ acre site.

Speaking on the achievement Dawn said, “The PIF Awards represent the very highest accolade in our industry and to have been acknowledged as a finalist was amazing, but to win – well that was phenomenal. Kennel of the Year is always an extremely well contested category and winning it really does reflect the lengths we go to ensure our canine companions are happy and extremely well looked after every time they come to stay with us.

“I want to say thank you to my whole team for helping to make this happen. After the last 18 months winning this award is an incredible pick-up and we’re all so very grateful.”

Rose Cottage is also finalist in three categories in the prestigious regional awards the Derbyshire Times Business Excellence Awards.

Dawn added: “Yes, in the same week as winning the PIF Award, Kennel of the Year we also heard that we’re finalists in all three categories we entered in the Derbyshire Times Business Excellence Awards including Customer Service Award, Small Business of the Year and Team of the Year.

“Honestly the news couldn’t get any better! Congratulations to all the other finalists and good luck for the finals! We’re up against some stiff competition but to have been recognised in the finals and to be included with these other amazing companies and individuals is fantastic and, again, testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone here at Rose Cottage.”

The Derbyshire Times Business Excellence Awards take place on Thursday 25th November 2021 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Sheffield Park.

Rose Cottage Doggy Day Care supports the marketing and economic growth of the town through Chesterfield Champions, a network of over 180 organisations across Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
