Global manufacturer crowned again in King’s Awards for Enterprise

Chesterfield-based manufacturer Heraeus Electro-Nite (UK) has been recognised for a second year in the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise.

The global manufacturer has scooped the 2025 accolade for innovation, following its win last year in international trade.

Heraeus Electro-Nite (UK) is one of only 16 firms to be recognised in the East Midlands. The King’s Award for Enterprise is the highest official UK award for British businesses, recognising and celebrating outstanding achievements in enterprise.

Winners can fly the King’s Awards flag at their main office and use the emblem on marketing materials. Often seen as a Royal Seal of approval, this award is highly valued by suppliers, customers, and employees, demonstrating commitment to innovation and excellence.

Heraeus Electro-Nite (UK) is based in Sheepbridge in Chesterfield and has been trading since 1989. It is the market leader in measurement technology in molten metals. The global Heraeus Group employs over 70 people, headquartered in Hanau, Germany.

Mark Lee, Managing Director of Heraeus Electro-Nite (UK) said: “To be recognised two years in a row and now hold both the Innovation and International Trade awards feels like the holy grail of business achievements for us.

“We are immensely proud to see that our innovative technologies CasTemp: Continuous temperature measurement in liquid steel, and CoreTemp: A man-less, on-demand measurement system for the electric furnace, have been recognised for their value and impact on the global steel and metals industry.

“To receive an acknowledgement by the King is an incredible honour, as it validates the hard work, creativity, and commitment to excellence from every member of the team. A heartfelt thank you to everyone past and present who has contributed to this journey. Your dedication and teamwork made this moment possible.”

Team of colleagues accepting a Kings Award

East Midlands Chamber Chief Executive Scott Knowles said: Firms across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire lead on innovation, on overseas trade and sustainable growth.

“The King’s Award for Enterprise is the pinnacle – about the highest it gets in stamping a business as one organisations of all sizes can look up to. I extend my congratulations to all the East Midlands businesses named this year as award recipients for their remarkable achievement.”

Heraeus Electro-Nite (UK) supports the marketing and economic growth of the town through Chesterfield Champions, a network of over 230 organisations across Chesterfield and North Derbyshire.
