Charles Hedley expands into larger Market Hall premises
Country clothing and accessories business Charles Hedley has expanded into larger premises within Chesterfield Market Hall, creating more space to display its growing range and improve the customer experience.
Offering a carefully selected range of quality clothing, footwear, leather goods and accessories for men and women, Charles Hedley’s collection includes Harris Tweed, British-made and traditionally crafted products, alongside leather jackets and bags, country clothing, footwear, hats and accessories.
First established at Chesterfield markets in September 1981, Charles Hedley moved into Chesterfield Market Hall in 2014. The shop has now relocated from its previous premises inside the Market Hall to the outside of the Market Hall.
Tom Towndrow, Manager at Charles Hedley, said:
“The move to Shop 8 was really a natural progression for the business. Since opening in Chesterfield Market Hall, Charles Hedley has continued to grow, and we reached the point where we needed more space to display our products properly and give customers a better shopping experience.”
The move marks a new chapter for the business after more than a decade in the Market Hall, allowing it to build on what it has achieved and continue developing for the future.
Being based in the Market Hall has also allowed Charles Hedley to become part of our town centre’s independent business community.
Tom added:
“We really enjoy the atmosphere and community within the Market Hall. There is a great mix of independent businesses, and it is nice to be part of a place where customers can shop locally and discover different businesses under one roof.
The Market Hall also has a real sense of character, and we enjoy being part of its continued development.”
Chesterfield remains an important location for the business, with customers visiting from our town itself as well as surrounding towns and villages.
Tom said:
“It has a strong local community and a good mix of independent businesses, and we like being part of the town centre. Being in Chesterfield also gives us the opportunity to build relationships with local customers while attracting people visiting the town.”
Alongside its physical shop, Charles Hedley has continued to develop its online presence. The move into Shop 8 provides further room to grow the product range, strengthen the customer experience and continue building the business while remaining focused on quality clothing, traditional craftsmanship and good customer service.
Looking ahead, Charles Hedley plans to continue developing its product range and customer experience while maintaining its focus on quality clothing.
