See our town sparkle with fantastic entertainment and shop for unique treasures as Chesterfield’s annual Christmas Lights Switch On and Market returns on Sunday 22nd November 2026.
What to expect
The Chesterfield Christmas Lights Switch On brings festive fun to the town centre with entertainment and activities for all ages.
Browse the new Christmas Market and discover artisan gifts, crafts and seasonal products. You can also enjoy festive food and drink as you explore the market.
There will be plenty happening throughout the event too. Look out for walkabout entertainment, fairground rides and an Après Ski-style bar.
Meanwhile, the Town Hall will host the main stage show. Becky Measures will host the entertainment before a special guest switches on the Christmas lights from 4:45pm.
The stage will also feature live entertainment throughout the event. Local musicians, choirs, dance groups, community performers and seasonal entertainers will take part.
The stage will return to the Town Hall following the success of its new location in 2025. This allows more entertainment and traders to take part across the town centre.
