Chesterfield Borough Council
Chesterfield Borough Council works in close partnership with Destination Chesterfield to showcase the borough as a thriving place to live, work, visit and invest.
The council delivers over 50 services to the borough’s residents, tenants, businesses and visitors – guided by the priorities set out in its Council Plan 2019 – 2023:
- Making Chesterfield a thriving borough
- Improving quality of life for local people
- Providing value for money services
Working with key partners, the council is committed to ensuring that Chesterfield is in the strongest possible position to recover from the impact of Covid-19 – building on the town’s economic and community resilience.
This includes leading the way on nationally significant regeneration schemes which represent more than £1 billion worth of investment in the area, and championing the borough as a place for business to invest, grow and thrive.
Cllr Tricia Gilby, Leader of the council, said: “We are incredibly proud of our borough and how – together with key partners and our business community – we have put Chesterfield on the map as a place to invest and seek new opportunity.
“There is no doubt that the pandemic has hit our communities hard, but collectively we have stood firm in the face of adversity and continue to work together to make sure we’re in the strongest possible position to move forward.
“We put our communities at the heart of everything we do, and together we’re working hard to create a thriving and sustainable borough which offers opportunities for generations to come.”
The borough and its businesses are showcased in the Love Chesterfield campaign – a joint initiative by the council and Destination Chesterfield.
