The annual Elizabethan festive celebrations will be arriving once again, as Wintertide begins at Hardwick Hall from 17th November – 5th January.
What to expect
The Wintertide journey begins in the busy Elizabethan kitchens, as the household prepares for days of revelry and feasting. Explore the hall full of 16th-century cheer, then wander through the rooms filled with handcrafted decorations and winter greenery, before joining the trail to hunt down the family’s lost pearls.
The hall will also be running special late night openings, to see the mansion in a whole new light; a truly spectacular experience.
Special events during the season include Wintertide storytelling, folk carols and special performances from Three Inch Fools.
Alongside the themed, festive fun, Hardwick is also offering workshops to inspire visitors with Elizabethan-inspired crafts. Create blackwork natural dyeing and embroidery, try wreath making, or explore shibori silk scarves to make unique festive gifts.
