Northern Tea Merchants Ltd is a long-established, third-generation business based on Chatsworth Road in Chesterfield.
Specialists in tea bag manufacturing, coffee roasting, and the packing of teas, coffees, cocoa, and superfoods, they proudly employ a local team to support their growing business.
Each year, Northern Tea Merchants produces around 100 million tea bags and roasts more than 200 tonnes of coffee, supplying organisations across the UK and overseas.
Alongside their role as a trusted supplier and packer for many businesses and organisations, Northern Tea Merchants is also home to the Pomegranate Café and shop on Chatsworth Road.
This much-loved local destination is where Chesterfield residents and visitors can enjoy freshly roasted coffees, fine teas, light lunches and brunches, cakes and sweet treats, while also shopping from their wide range of blends to enjoy at home.
The business has been rooted in Chesterfield since its beginnings as the Spire Tea Company in 1936 and continues to thrive thanks to the town’s central location and strong community ties.
Northern Tea Merchants is proud to hold multiple certifications, including STS Micron2 Food Standard, Soil Association Organic Certification, Kosher accreditation, and membership of SEDEX, ensuring the highest standards in sourcing and sustainability.
