Brown & Brown
Brown & Brown (previously DCJ Group Insurance & Risk Management) was established in Chesterfield in 1991. Specialising in providing professional advice to their clients in respect of all types of general insurance products, protecting the assets and liabilities of both businesses and individuals. From humble beginnings, the company has grown substantially, controlling circa £12 million in premium income and employing 30 staff. Most of this growth has been organic although, the insurance brokers have also acquired businesses along the way.
In 2018, they became part of Global Risk Partners (GRP). In July 2022, GRP were acquired by Brown & Brown – a publicly traded business in the USA – before rebranding as of the 3rd March 2025. As a result, DCJ are now a part of the 6th largest broker in the world. The DCJ identity is, however, being retained and the team is committed to providing a professional, personal service to their client base. Most of which is located in and around Chesterfield. At the same time, the brokers can exert strength in the insurer marketplace to obtain the best cover at competitive premium levels.
