Derbyshire Addictions Advice Service
Derbyshire Addictions Advice Service (DAAS), a registered charity, has for over 40 years been working alongside a range of partner organisations to support individuals and families across Derbyshire. DAAS ensures individuals and families affected by addiction can access free advice, information, and counselling.
The team supports a range of Derbyshire professionals. Promoting education and early intervention, helping them build confidence in supporting individuals affected by addiction.
DAAS provides:
- Support for anyone 18+ in Derbyshire (excluding Derby City) affected by alcohol, substance or addiction related harm.
- Single point of contact referral HUB for Derbyshire Recovery Partnership and East Midlands Gambling Harms Service, offering information, advice and guidance.
- BACP accredited counselling for addiction, dependency, early trauma, affected others and substance use bereavement counselling.
- Training on addiction-related issues for health, social care, and community staff in Derbyshire. Bespoke training is available for organisations and employers.
- Stop Smoking Support for individuals in recovery from alcohol and substance use.
- STAND TO Derbyshire Veteran Community Support:
- Veterans Community HUB: A dedicated space based in Chesterfield offering veteran-specific support for veterans, families, and professionals, peer support, access to veteran services and recovery activities, alcohol support, smoking cessation and access to BACP accredited counselling.
- Veterans Awareness Training: Free training for organisations on the impact of PTSD and challenges during transition to civilian life.
