Community round-up: 10K grows as Redbrik donates £6,900 and foodbank launches scheme

Redbrik Foundation donates £6,900 to local charities and schools

Redbrik Estate Agents has started 2026 strong by announcing that the Redbrik Foundation has made a series of generous donations totalling £6,900.

These latest donations will help organisations across our region to invest in supporting mental health, specialist education, and childhood wellness.

The beneficiaries were local schools, charities and community groups throughout Sheffield and Chesterfield, including: Amber Bee CIC, Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, Whirlow Hall Farm Trust, Mossbrook School and The Eden Dora Trust for Children with Encephalitis.

David Cooper, Trustee of the Redbrik Foundation, said

“We’re so proud of the donations that we’ve been able to make.

“These charities are chosen by our people, for our local people. So it’s a real boost for the entire Redbrik team to start 2026 by giving something back to the organisations that they hold close to their hearts.”

One of the donations was awarded to Whirlow Hall Farm Trust, a local organisation dedicated to providing immersive experiences and educational support to Sheffield’s most vulnerable children.

Ruth Gage, Grants and Communications Manager at the Trust, highlighted the importance of this support:

“Everyone at Whirlow would like to extend a huge thank you to the Redbrik Foundation for awarding us this generous grant.

“The funding will support us to continue running our educational programmes, which empower young people facing mental health challenges, and provide them with support and a sense of belonging.”

The news doesn’t stop here. The Redbrik Foundation is already gearing up for its biggest event of the year: the Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10K on the 17th of May.

The Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10K has already reached over 1,000 entrants for this year’s event. All of the funds raised from the event will continue to support local causes that keep our communities strong.

Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10K welcomes Weston Park Cancer Charity as new partner

For its fifth race, the Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10K has announced Weston Park Cancer Charity as its latest charity partner, joining longstanding organisations Ashgate Hospice and Bluebell Wood.

The event has become one of the most anticipated in the region, attracting thousands of participants and supporters each year, bringing together both seasoned runners and beginners, and encouraging and inspiring individuals of all ages to take part in events over the entire weekend.

In addition to the personal challenge, a major incentive to participate in the race is to raise money for local charities, with Ashgate Hospice, Bluebell Wood, and Weston Park Cancer Charity as charity partners, alongside the Redbrik Foundation as the title partner for 2026.

Phoebe Marriott, Events Fundraising Officer at Weston Park Cancer Charity, said:

“Everyone at Weston Park is thrilled to become a charity partner for the Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10K alongside fellow fantastic charities Ashgate Hospice and Bluebell Wood.

“The money raised will help fund services, advice, therapies and support for patients and their loved ones, helping everyone to live with and beyond cancer. The funds will also support vital, pioneering research and clinical trials led by the exceptional medical experts at Weston Park Cancer Centre.

“Participants can be proud to know their fundraising will have a direct impact on local people, directly in Chesterfield. We support patients getting to and from their hospital appointments through our free transport service. £200, for example, covers the cost of fuel for all three routes on our transport service for approximately four days. This would help around 240 patients to access vital cancer treatment and appointments.”

John Timms, lead organiser at the Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10K and director at MLS Contracts Ltd., said:

“Weston Park Cancer Charity is an incredible organisation that supports so many people in our region. It’s a pleasure to welcome them to the Chesterfield 10K family.”

The Redbrik Foundation Chesterfield 10K returns to Queen’s Park on Sunday, 17 May 2026. Entries are now open for participants online.

Chesterfield Foodbank launches ‘A Year’s Supply’ corporate sponsorship scheme

Chesterfield Foodbank has announced a new tiered corporate sponsorship initiative, A Year’s Supply, designed to give local businesses a practical and visible way to support people facing hardship across the borough.

The launch follows the charity’s recent membership of the Chesterfield Champions network, strengthening its links with the local business community and creating new opportunities for corporate social responsibility partnerships.

A Year’s Supply allows businesses to sponsor a specific item from the Foodbank’s emergency parcels for a full year. Each item has a clear weekly sponsorship value, enabling organisations of all sizes to choose a level that fits their budget while making a tangible difference to families in crisis.

Sponsors can choose from a range of essential items, from everyday cupboard staples to high-demand goods such as soup, long-life juice and meat. In return, businesses receive a package of recognition and promotional benefits, structured across Bronze, Silver and Gold tiers.

Bronze sponsors receive public thanks on social media. Silver sponsors are additionally featured in the Foodbank newsletter and on its website. Gold sponsors receive all of the above, plus a press release feature and their logo displayed on the Chesterfield Foodbank van, providing visible recognition across the community.

Jacqueline DeVeaux, Communications, Engagement & Funding Manager at Chesterfield Foodbank, said:

“We are proud to be part of the Chesterfield Champions network and to work more closely with local businesses who care about their community. A Year’s Supply gives companies a simple, transparent way to support our work while seeing exactly how their contribution helps people facing crisis. Every sponsored item directly supports individuals and families across Chesterfield, and these partnerships help us continue delivering both emergency food and wider support services.”

Chesterfield Foodbank supports around 10,000 local people each year with emergency food and signposting to specialist advice. The charity works closely with referral agencies and community partners to address the underlying causes of hardship, helping individuals move towards greater stability.
