What to expect
This two-day Team Leader workshop provides a practical introduction to the skills needed to manage teams and individuals effectively.
Over the length of the course, you’ll understand the responsibilities that come with being a team leader, including duty of care, fairness and integrity.
Over the course of two days, you’ll cover:
- How to establish your own leadership style and learn when to support or challenge members of your team
- How to communicate effectively with both teams and individuals, while developing your confidence in giving and receiving feedback
- Practical techniques for handling difficult situations and addressing issues in a constructive way
- How to recognise good performance and give appropriate recognition
- How to address performance issues and clarify expectations
- How to organise and plan so that you can manage your responsibilities more effectively and provide consistent support to your team
Importantly, you’ll explore each of these topics whilst knowing the difference between supervising staff and working alongside colleagues.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a better understanding of good practice in team leadership. You’ll also have the opportunity to reflect on your own performance and identify areas for further development.
