Paddlesports on Chesterfield Canal

Try something different this summer and have a go at Paddlesports along the Chesterfield Canal.

Paddlesports are available to hire from Hollingwood Hub.

Equipment

5 stand up paddleboards
2 sit on single kayaks
1 sit on double kayak
1 Canadian sit in canoe (for up to 3 adults)

Prices for 1 hr, 2hrs & 3 hrs

Paddleboards –  £14, £24 & £32
Single kayaks –  £14, £24 & £32
Double kayak –  £18, £32 & £42
Canadian canoe –  £18, £32 & £42

If you want to explore the whole canal between Chesterfield and Staveley or maybe go for a picnic, it is possible to book a 6 hour session on any of the craft on any day between May and September when the above sessions are not taking place. The prices are £50 for a Paddleboard or Single Kayak and £60 for a Double Kayak or Canadian Canoe. Please email paddlesports@chesterfield-canal-trust.org.uk.

Conditions of Hire

• Hire will be dependent on weather and water conditions.
• Hire will be dependent on a risk assessment of the hirer(s) and any medical conditions.
• Please bring photographic ID. This will be photographed for security purposes.
• The minimum age is 6. There must be at least one adult in the group.
• Please bring a mobile phone to use in case of emergency. We will supply a waterproof bag (used at your risk).
• We will supply a map and emergency contact number.
• We have a changing cubicle. We do not supply wet suits, so a change of clothing is advisable.
• You must wear a buoyancy aid, which we provide.
• Helmets are available, if requested.
• You will be given a safety briefing and help with launching your craft.
