Speakers at the Chesterfield Investment Summit 2021
Tricia became the first female leader of Chesterfield Borough Council in April 2017. As a member of the East Midlands HS2 Growth Strategy Executive Board she Chairs the Chesterfield & Staveley HS2 Delivery Board. She is a strong advocate for strengthening the industrial base in north eastern Derbyshire and ensuring that local communities benefit from that growth.
Staveley Town Centre Masterplan
Christian is a chartered town planner and urban designer who has been with BDP since 2006. He has over 18 year’s experience in spatial planning and urban design including masterplans in Aberdeen City Centre, Wirral and Derbyshire. Christian assisted the Staveley Town Board in preparing the Staveley Town Investment Plan, which was followed by the award of £25.2 million of funding from central government towards 11 projects.
Progressing Peak Resort
Rupert Carr is a founding shareholder and director of PEAK – The Gateway Resort.
PEAK will be realised in phases on 300 acres of reclaimed land located on the eastern boundary of the National Park set on the outskirts of Chesterfield.
Chesterfield Regeneration Update
Dr Huw Bowen, Chief Executive of Chesterfield Borough Council
Huw fulfils a number of longstanding appointments to local enterprise partnership, combined authority, health and wellbeing boards. Huw has an excellent reputation for working with strategic partners to deliver complex large-scale regeneration projects with an emphasis on ensuring that local people benefit from the proceeds of economic growth.
The Future of Offices
Peter has worked in property development since the early 1980s, but also has a passion for regeneration. As co-founder of Bolsterstone, set up 1989, Peter has worked on and delivered a variety of projects. Peter has lived in Chesterfield for over 40 years and is proud to be the Chair of Destination Chesterfield. He is part of the team behind Chesterfield Waterside. A £340 million, high quality, mixed-use, sustainable regeneration scheme is built across 16 hectares on the edge of the town centre. It is set in a canal-side environment, adjacent to the River Rother and Chesterfield Canal.
The Big Discussion with Chesterfield Property and Construction Group
Andy is a Chartered Architect and Board Director at Whittam Cox Architects. His particular interest and specialism is in the master planning and design of major mixed-use regeneration projects providing strategic architectural advice and direction.
Jillian is a Chartered Architect and founding Director of Lomas and Mitchell Architects and loves to unravel complicated spatial problems. Jillian specialises in low-energy, healthy and beautiful homes – whether one-offs or several-offs – and has had particular success with gaining planning approval for Paragraph 79 projects. These one-off houses in the countryside need to be of ‘outstanding architectural merit’ in order to gain approval.
Andrew is responsible for the re-development and investment projects across the Group in both North Yorkshire and North Derbyshire.
Devonshire Group are currently promoting large residential projects at Staveley and Mastin Moor in Chesterfield, delivering over 1300 homes, and promoting, with their joint venture partner HBD, a scheme to deliver over 700,000 sq ft of employment space at a new extension to the Markham Vale development.
Invest in Derbyshire
Chris Henning is Executive Director, Place for Derbyshire County Council, responsible for economy, transport and environment. He joined from Nottingham City Council where he played a similar role. Chris has worked for over 25 years in economic development, first with central government and then with one of the UK’s leading consulting firms. This included a role as Director for Regions and Policy for UK Trade and Investment.
