We are pleased to announce the third Chesterfield Investment Summit. With over £1 billion of developments on site and more on the way, the Chesterfield Investment Summit will make sure you are up to date with investment opportunities in Chesterfield and North Derbyshire!
As well as keynote speakers, there will be an update on regeneration sites across North Derbyshire, exhibitors from key regeneration sites and a question and answer panel with our speakers and local decision makers.

Peter has over thirty years’ experience of working in the environmental and economic regeneration sector, Peter is employed by Derbyshire County Council as the Head of Markham Vale – a public-private sector partnership with Henry Boot Developments Ltd – to deliver the largest ever regeneration project in Derbyshire.

Huw is Chief Executive of Chesterfield Borough Council, a role he has held for the past 11 years. Huw also fulfills a number of longstanding appointments to local enterprise partnership, combined authority and health and wellbeing boards. Huw has an excellent reputation for working with strategic partners to deliver complex large-scale regeneration projects with a particular emphasis on ensuring that local people benefit from the proceeds of economic growth.
Through Huw’s leadership, Chesterfield Borough Council is also highly regarded with a proven track record of excellence in service delivery as measured by performance and public satisfaction outcomes. Huw holds a PH.D in Public Health.
Mark has worked in the Skills, Employment & Education team at HS2 Ltd since 2017, the majority of the time on Phase 1. Since the summer he has moved to focus on Phase 2a and 2b.
A teacher by profession, he held management positions whilst teaching at secondary level before moving into the skills and education consulting sector in 2015.
His early career included eight years in recruitment for businesses including Vodafone Group, Dell and American Express.
Meet the developer
Mark manages the Technical Team for Kier Living (Central). They bring forward sites from 50 to 1000 homes, with associated infrastructure and community projects. Providing crucial early engagement with their up front teams to ensure sites are technically evaluated and viable. Then manage all technical aspects through to site completion.
