PCT Healthcare is an independent pharmacy chain operating within the UK. Peak Pharmacy, the firm’s pharmacies in Derbyshire, was founded by Peter and Jane Cattee in Chesterfield in 1981 and PCT Healthcare remains a family-owned entity today. Having grown from one pharmacy in Chesterfield to now owning and managing over 120 pharmacies in the UK, PCT Healthcare employs over 1400 people.
The majority of staff who work for PCT Healthcare in Derbyshire were born in Chesterfield, and now work hard to support the local community.
As well as having a strong retail pharmacy base, from which staff take great pride in offering accurate and prompt prescription dispensing, as well as a wide (and ever growing) range of NHS commissioned services, the business is developing into a patient-orientated service provider.
The team believes their success and growth as a business is down to two things. Primarily the hard work and involvement of all employees, combined with the firm’s family ownership, and the family values which are applied to our business.
Gill Watters, PA to the CEO at PCT Healthcare believes that as an employer, the firm is a strong role model within the town: “As an employee, I find PCT has strong company values tied to strong family values, with employers who understand the need for work / life balance.”
“Also the firm is a well-known, respected local ‘brand’ with a good reputation in the wider community.”
“As an individual I feel valued and that my opinion matters which is very important. All job roles are crucial to the success of the business and this is noted and regularly passed on to staff through meetings, newsletters and social gatherings. It’s great to feel part of a successful team and this is what makes PCT worthy of being a champion in my opinion.”
Andrea Street, Head of Refit and Design at PCT Healthcare describes Chesterfield as a great place to be located for business: “The geographical location of Chesterfield makes it ideal, as it has an excellent road network being close to M1 and having A61 run through the centre. Having a wide range of businesses and facilities means that people visit the town regularly creating more opportunity for customers to use our business.”
