Chesterfield Coffee Shop and Tea Rooms Highlights
Time for Tea
The first thing that you experience when you enter Northern Tea Merchants is the heady aroma of tea and coffee. Their menu of beverages spans over 60 pages and is also an insight into the history of tea, its countries of origin, its flavour and the best way to brew the marvellous leaf. Sit at tables with glass tops covering samples of 36 different teas and coffees from the enormous range supplied.
Whilst you sit with your chosen drink, your eyes wander around the walls which are covered with historic quotations about tea and coffee and fascinating insights into the way that tea and coffee has been marketed throughout the last century. Tastefully lit display cabinets contain many interesting tea and coffee related items that are ideal for the ardent drinker or make wonderful and individual gifts.
Family Friendly Coffee Bar
St Thomas’ Coffee Bar is a tranquil place in which to relax after a busy morning of shopping. Located in the beautiful grounds of St Thomas’ Church, the stunning, recently built stone venue hosts a number of eco credentials, including a grass roof and rainwater harvesting.
Light lunches and excellent coffees are available at St Thomas’ from 9am-3pm during the week and from 9am-2pm at the weekend. The centre also hosts a number of activities, such as the popular Brampton Food Market where you can purchase delicious, locally produced foods (every month except January and August).
Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and lovely spacious surroundings at Stephensons Tea and Coffee House; whether you just want coffee and a cake, tea and scones or a light lunch and somewhere to unwind. You can also enjoy a spot of afternoon tea in the coffee shop just around the corner from the Crooked Spire.
At the ‘The Spire’ by Stephensons they pride themselves in serving good quality locally sourced food that is freshly made and produced ‘in house’ wherever possible. They use Fair Trade products where they can and the coffee and some teas are from ‘Direct Relationship Producers’. They are located next door to the famous Crooked Spire.
At the Heart of the Market
Since opening in the summer of 2017, the Chesterfield Market Cafe has proved a hit with visitors to the town centre. The cafe on the ground floor of Chesterfield’s historic market hall, has a wide range of the finest food and drink from local suppliers. All served with excellent customer service.
