SHAPE Learning Partnership
SHAPE (Sport, Health Activity and Physical Education) is the new organisation re-brand whose members are the partner schools of the old Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire School Sport Partnerships.
It’s a longstanding, not for profit, education-based provider of Physical Education, school sport and physical activity.
SHAPE Learning Partnership aims to work with member schools to improve the lives of all young people in the area through their involvement in PE, school sport, physical activity and health-based interventions. As the original Government established School Sports Partnerships, they’re continually striving to provide a relevant, suitable and vibrant PE, school sport, physical activity, health and wellbeing offer for all young people. Their ethical approach ensures they promote a strong, positive and sustainable approach to Physical Education, school sport and physical activity, allowing every child the opportunity to be involved.
Their network is unique as they’re integrated within both primary and secondary schools across the area with over 70 years’ combined expertise for delivering high quality PE, school sport and physical activity. This is SHAPE’s core strength as a network, along with their close links to National Governing Bodies, Public Health England, the Local Authority, Youth Sport Trust, Sport England, Department for Transport and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Paul Ryan, Partnership Development Manager, is proud to be based in Chesterfield and to be part of Chesterfield Champions “SHAPE has been the trusted provider of PE and School Sport support in the local area for nearly 16 years. Winning national awards for our work with local schools, the community is a big focus for us and being part of Chesterfield Champions allows us to extend our involvement with the community of Chesterfield”.
