Stanedge Golf Club
Founded in 1931, Stanedge Golf Club is located on the outskirts of Chesterfield, providing idyllic views stretching over four counties.
The golf course is a beautiful moorland/parkland course suitable for all levels of ability, offering an engaging, challenging and varied test of golf with three par threes, six par fours and one par five. The course layout provides a variety of options to play as many or as few holes as desired.
Coaching is available on an individual, group or family basis with expert AA PGA professional, Fame Tate, for beginners or experienced players.
Members can participate in weekend and midweek competitions for men, women, seniors, juniors and mixed categories. Along with friendly matches with other local clubs throughout the year.
The clubhouse has its own bar and catering facilities, being the home of Tyzack’s Bar & Restaurant. Members and visitors can relax and unwind overlooking the exquisite views in one of the spacious booths or in the elegant and contemporary main restaurant with beautiful bespoke chairs and tables.
Fame Tate explains: “With the nature of our business, Chesterfield is a super place to work and live. The central location surrounded by the beautiful Peak District and within close proximity to the M1 therefore means we can attract a wider demographic of individuals to the golf club.”
“The redevelopment and regeneration of the town centre is certainly attracting new businesses to invest in the area which as a business owner, is beneficial for the local economy despite these challenging times that we all currently face.”
“Throughout the ongoing work we continue to do at Stanedge, we have networked, engaged and supported other local businesses and I strongly believe that this is vital to show a unified contribution to the local community.”
“I feel proud to be part of the Chesterfield Champions scheme and to be able to contribute to the future of the town and golf.”
Stanedge are not what is perceived as the ‘norm’ for a golf club. There is no committee or board of directors and therefore they can implement change quickly to meet the needs of the modern world.
They pride themselves on providing extraordinary service for their members and visitors both on and off the course and in the clubhouse. They have created a community and a culture, providing an enviable golfing and social experience for all.
