New Leadership for Modern Business

Course description

This short course provides an understanding of the key approaches to managing people. Managers will understand some of the psychological processes taking place at work and how to create an environment which will motivate staff to improve performance. There will be a focus on practical techniques which recognise a greater level of equality between differing layers within an organisation, and a means of developing willingness and ownership of workers’ actions through improved leadership techniques, eg emotionally intelligent communication methods.

Learning outcomes

On completion of this course delegates will:

have knowledge of novel and practical means of working with employees to improve performance
understand how new leadership and management processes can lead to business growth
have an understanding of their own skills and abilities and those of others in the organisation, with a view to maximising performance

Lecture/ workshop times

25 November: 2pm – 6pm

2 December: 2pm – 5:30pm

20 hours – 12 hours classroom based and 8 hours online
