Business Strategy Planning – lean or traditional, which one is right for me?

business strategy

Are you an SME business owner or leader, who is focused on growth through transformation? Maybe you’re an established business or new start-up seeking to understand the different strategic routes you can take, to help you meet your commercial goals? If you are, this webinar will help you adopt the best approach for you and your organisation.

This session will cover both the classic way of starting or growing a business and the lean approach. Each approach, done effectively, encourages businesses to self-analyse and have honest conversations with internal and external stakeholders, to drive value in the planning process. However, there are several key differences in the characteristics of each method.

On the one hand, the classic approach involves writing a traditional business plan and may present significant benefits for leaders and managers as they go through the planning process. On the other, the lean approach has now grown into a simple and accessible set of principles and tools that inform strategy, reduce risk and achieve results in a fraction of the time.

This webinar will provoke participants to consider the options and make informed decisions to hone strategic thinking and ultimately develop behaviours needed to successfully move from ‘thinking’ to ‘doing’

Who should attend this session?

This interactive webinar is aimed at SMEs and is a must for business owners, managers or leaders seeking to evaluate alternative approaches to business planning and explore ways to turn their strategic thinking into positive action.
Please note that this webinar is open to trading SMEs based in Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. Businesses located outside of this area will be unable to attend and instead directed to alternative support.

What will we cover?

  • Exploring the classic business planning approach.
  • Understanding lean start-up thinking, the principles, tools and techniques that support it and how these apply to an existing business.
  • Looking at examples of both approaches in action and considering insights into the appropriate uses for both.
  • Evaluating the implications of the different approaches.

Attending this webinar will equip you with:

  • New methods, tools and approaches that you can immediately apply in your business.
  • The knowledge and insight needed to make astute strategy route choices.
  • The ability to execute plans effectively and drive sustainable growth through changing conditions.
