Chesterfield Canal Cruises
Enjoy a Canal Cruise on the Madeline from Hollingwood Hub or the John Varley II from Tapton Lock in Chesterfield.
The Madeline runs from Hollingwood Hub (S43 2PF) and was built by Eckington School and launched in 2014. It has a galley for serving hot and cold drinks, a toilet and large opening windows all-round the boat. A big cruiser-style stern makes getting on and off the boat easy. There is access to the passenger cabin down a short flight of steep steps with a large front deck.
The John Varley II runs trips from Tapton Lock (S41 7JB), on the Tesco roundabout in Chesterfield. It is a brand new, state of the art tripboat with a large wheelchair lift, a foredeck, a hearing loop and lots of other superb features including two stained glass portholes.
Chesterfield Canal Cruises take you down the beautiful Chesterfield Canal – so you can cruise and enjoy the lovely scenery. You may even spot some wildlife as you cruise along!
There are various canal trips that run throughout the week at different times. Make sure to check the Canal Trust website for further details.
Booking is essential for all trips unless stated. Book your place here: https://chesterfield-canal-trust.org.uk/bookings/. Where there are two prices, the concessions are for Under 16s and Over 65s.
