Celebrating skills – National Apprenticeship Week & National Careers Week

National Apprenticeship Week is back from 5th – 11th February. This is your chance to raise awareness of apprenticeship vacancies or celebrate the work of current apprentices. Find out more here and don’t forget to use #ApprenticeTown, #LoveChesterfield, #NAW2024 and tag us in so we can engage with your content. Where possible, please link back to the dedicated Apprentice Town webpages which feature lots of helpful guidance: www.chesterfield.co.uk/apprenticeships/.

National Careers Week returns on 4th – 9th March. This is all about showcasing the career development and pathways individuals can access locally. Find out more here and remember to use #ApprenticeTown, #LoveChesterfield, #NCW2024 and tag us in so we can engage with your content.

Have something special planned for the week? We want to hear all about it! For a chance to be showcased in our community round-up, send an update of what you have planned.

Showcase your business at the Celebrate Chesterfield Business Expo

Chesterfield Champions receive a discounted stall rate at the Celebrate Chesterfield Business Exhibition. This will take place on Wednesday 20th March at the Winding Wheel Theatre.

Get involved with seasonal gift and dining-out guides

Each year we put together Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Christmas guides to promote shopping and dining out opportunities in Chesterfield.

Interested in being featured on our website, social media, leisure e-shot and an article in the Derbyshire Times? This opportunity is free, but we need your help sourcing content. Please note the following deadlines in your calendars.

  • Mother’s Day – supply content by Friday 9th February
  • Father’s Day – supply content by Friday 10th May

Please contact mollie.brown@chesterfield.co.uk to register your interest in being featured.

Create a unique offer for Chesterfield Champions

Destination Chesterfield encourages Chesterfield Champions to shop and trade locally as much as possible, in order to support the local economy.

To submit an offer for fellow Chesterfield Champions, please email Melissa with the following:

  • An image
  • The discount value (we ask for this to be at least the equivalent of 20% where possible to increase interest)
  • how to claim and expiry date (where possible, no expiry date is best).

Help put Chesterfield on the map this summer

Chesterfield has a fabulous line-up of events and activities for families to experience this summer. We need your help to shout about what’s happening across our town.

The Summer in Chesterfield campaign was seen a total of 1.6 million times in 2023. We want Summer in Chesterfield 2024 to be even bigger and better. Fancy getting involved? Email mollie.brown@chesterfield.co.uk for a chat.

We’re busy planning the marketing activity for this campaign but keep an eye on this page for opportunities.

Voice your views at an upcoming Round Table

Champions Round Tables have changed format for 2024 to create two strong news stories around current affairs for distribution to the Derbyshire Times as well as promotion via Destination Chesterfield’s channels.

The best quotes from businesses involved with the Round Table discussions will be included in the news stories, chosen to change perceptions of the town and support the angle or call to action, backed up by statistics and information sourced by the Destination Chesterfield team and its strategic partners.

Representatives from Destination Chesterfield, Chesterfield Borough Council and East Midlands Chamber will also be present at each event to listen to any concerns and feed into the discussion.

Subjects for 2024 are as follows (dates may subject to change):

  • Thu 7th March – Celebrate Local
  • Wed, 8th May – Experience Chesterfield
  • Wed, 17th July – Living and Working in Chesterfield
  • Wed, 11th September – Invest in Chesterfield
  • Wed, 6th November – Manufacturing and Engineering

If you would like to be part of one of the discussions, please express your interest to Josh Marsh (josh.marsh@chesterfield.co.uk).
