Raspberry Pi for Beginners

Kakou Chesterfield british science week open day

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer which has revolutionised the way coding and electronics are taught to children; and provided a new way for engineers to create new products.

This beginners course is for adults who want to learn the basics of the Raspberry Pi. No prior knowledge or experience is required – this is a complete beginners course.

This is a one day course, with 10 places available for each session.

What you will learn:

  • What is a Raspberry Pi and how to set one up
  • Basic Python – the programming language for the Raspberry Pi
  • How to control real-life items like lights, buzzers and switches.

All equipment will be provided, and you will be given a booklet to take away with you, full of information and projects to help you continue your Raspberry Pi adventure at home

Dates and Times:

Saturday 12th January, 2019 – 11am to 2pm

Saturday 23rd February, 2019 – 11am to 2pm

Proceeds from all Kakou workshops go towards funding creative STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) workshops for disadvantaged children and community groups.
