Celebrate the incredible work of our emergency services with an action-packed Emergency Services Day on Saturday 15th August.
What to expect
- Hands-on activities
- Demonstrations
- Historic displays
Learn about the vital work that our emergency services do each day to keep our communities safe.
You can speak with representatives from Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service, the Chesterfield PCSO Team, St John Ambulance, the British Red Cross, the RNLI, Derbyshire 4×4 Response and the volunteer Derbyshire Blood Bike Riders, who provide critical medical transport support across the region.
Many of the organisations will be offering interactive demonstrations, showcasing their life-saving equipment and the work they carry out. Activities include CPR demonstrations and instruction using mannequins, as well as the chance to learn bandaging techniques and general first aid skills with St John Ambulance.
The National Emergency Services Museum will also be attending with a selection of historic emergency vehicles, giving visitors the chance to take photos and allowing children to try on emergency service uniforms.
There may even be a visit from an active fire engine!
