Enjoy the big sporting events at Vicar Lane's ‘Summer Zone’
Vicar Lane Shopping Centre, in Chesterfield, is celebrating ‘all things summer’ at their Summer Zone in St James Square. Customers will find an area especially laid to lawn, adorned with deck chairs and bistro sets, as well as a table tennis table and a giant ‘Up 4 It’ game!
Chesterfield Pride 2021
Chesterfield Pride is set to return in 2021 after the disappointment of the event being postponed in 2020. The event is planned to return on August 22nd 2021. Chesterfield Pride is one of the biggest and best attended Pride events in the region, with 2019 seeing over 6000 attending the LGBTQ+ celebration.    

Summer Play Season in Chesterfield's iconic Theatres 
 Chesterfield favourites Tabs Productions and Rumpus Theatre Company return to the Pomegranate Theatre to entertain you with another feelgood play season, this time with The Mating Game by Robin Hawdon, The Fancy Man by Mike Stott, and All About Murder by Brian Clemens and Dennis Spooner.
The Great British Food Festival at Hardwick Hall 
Hardwick Hall – the stunning Elizabethan country house based in Chesterfield – will host the Great British Food Festival on the 30th July-1st August 2021.Along with wonderful food and drink there will be chef demos, competitions, artisan talks, games and activities for the kids, and excellent live music.
Outdoor Cinema at Chatsworth
After months of staying indoors watching movies on the small screen, it’s time to head outside to Chatsworth for an unforgettable big-screen experience. Throw in great food, a full bar, both with click and collect service, an optional seated upgrade, and of course giant screens with incredible state of the art sound, and you have yourself your perfect summer’s evening out. 

Grab a bargain from Chesterfield's famous marketplace 
Chesterfield market is back to full capacity once again, and the traders can't wait to see you! Why not browse the stalls for fresh fruit and drink, bespoke items and much more? Don't forget the weekly Flea Market, Chesterfield Autojumble, Chesterfield Record Fair and the popular monthly Artisan Market!

Year of Outdoors events  
Chesterfield Borough Council is hosting a number of activities in the area to encourage healthy lifestyles and get people enjoying the great outdoors. From Walking Football, nest box building and scenic strolls, there is something for everyone! Find out more on our events page.
The Peak District Highland Games 
The ‘Peak District Highland Games’ are returning to Matlock Farm Park. See the super strong men compete with their varied events throughout the day, including the 8 tonne tractor pull, the massive stone carry and more!

Chesterfield's newest visitor attraction, Chesterfield Escape Rooms is now taking bookings for you to enjoy with family and friends. Can you successfully rob the bank or escape the crazy cat lady? 

Spireites Summer Soccer Schools 
The fantastic Spireites Summer Soccer School is back and the coaches and staff cannot wait to welcome you back in a COVID secure manner to St Mary’s High School for another action packed 6 weeks during the Summer Holidays.

The market town of Chesterfield has an excellent network of cycle routes and is perfectly located as a base for a cycling holiday to explore the Peak District and Derbyshire. There are smooth paths for beginners, country parks and trails for family rides or more adventurous routes for keen cyclists who want to enjoy more of what Chesterfield and North Derbyshire has to offer.
Singalong to Queen Classics at Queen's Park
A night of legendary music is set to take over one of the most picturesque settings in Derbyshire, as An Evening of Queen comes to Chesterfield on Thursday 5th August. Featuring dozens of hits from an astonishing back catalogue, this is a unique and stunning concert evening no Queen fan should miss.

Dance the night away at Ringwood Hall 
Ringwood Hall is hosting a number of events this summer, including a Black Tie Midsummer Ball and the Schools out for the Summer disco.  So get your best outfit on and get into the party spirit with fabulous food and entertainment in the elegant surroundings of Chesterfield's Ringwood Hall Hotel & Spa. 
Explore the great outdoors in Chesterfield 
From beautiful parks and breathtaking views, to spaces that inspire you to learn more about local history, Chesterfield and North Derbyshire is blessed when it comes to the great outdoors. There is plenty of scope for exploring and enjoying the local wildlife. We’ve brought together a snapshot of Chesterfield’s great outdoors – as recommended by local businesses. 
Love Chesterfield Community Market
The Love Chesterfield Community Market will be a family-friendly day with a variety of stalls, street food, walkabout entertainment and small funfair rides. A competition for ‘best-dressed stall’ will also be running on the day. Local charity, voluntary and community organisations are invited to book a free stall on the Market to promote their work and raise funds.
Explore and get active with Tagtap 
TagTap JTH (Join The Hunt) is a free exploration-based game based in Chesterfield. There are 350 points around the borough to check into, including in many of the fantastic parks and green spaces – expanding the game from its initial testing in New and Old Whittington.

Our iconic theatres are also looking forward to welcoming you back for a summer of shows, while you could enjoy some outdoor cinema in the splendid surroundings of Chatsworth.

Chesterfield is building back stronger after more than a year of covid-19 restrictions, so this summer is the perfect time to get back out there and enjoy all the great activities on offer across the area.
